Best book you’ve read recently: The Art of Gathering: How We Meet and Why It Matters by Priya Parker. This book helped me completely reimagine my COVID-19-postponed wedding and has opened my eyes to the power we have as hosts to transform events into more purposeful and memorable gatherings.

What are you looking forward to tackling in 2022?
In 2022, I’d like to keep pursuing our goal of fully funding our newsrooms through digital subscription revenue. 2021 was a big year for us, with about 50% annual growth in digital subscriptions (36% is the industry standard). I look forward to building on that growth in 2022 by focusing on improvements to our premium product experience that will grow retention and reach new audiences.

What projects are you excited to work on in 2022?
I am excited to enter into our 12ᵗʰ season working with Whole Foods Market Southern Pacific Region in its 44 California stores and to expand our relationship with Larder Meat Company in their year-round subscription-based direct-to-consumer program.

What are you looking forward to tackling in 2022?
In 2022, I am looking forward to finding new startups for potential investment. In particular, I will be searching for disruptive companies that operate in industries that are relevant to Hearst and that can bring innovation in-house.
